About Us

The Centre for Shaiva Studies is a research institute for the advanced study of the Śaiva traditions. It  has been established to facilitate multi-disciplinary research on the vast textual corpus of Śaivism and the documenting of contemporary forms of Śaivism, such as the thriving temple traditions, the yoga traditions, Śaiva dance and art forms, and various forms of Śaiva devotional practices.

Located in Pondicherry, the Centre will train and develop select scholars to undertake rigorous textual, manuscript, and epigraphic studies on the vast Śaiva corpus available in multiple Indian languages.

Publication of Kāmikāgama, Volume I

The Centre for Shaiva Studies, Pondicherry, is pleased to announce the publication of Kāmikāgama, Volume I, the inaugural volume in the Vedapurishaivashastra Series.
